Well Happy November everyone! It’s hard to believe we’re rapidly approaching the end of 2026, and we’re also rapidly approaching the end of this year’s Joshua Tree National Park and Mojave Desert series. I thought it appropriate to save one of my Joshua Tree images to the end – or at least close to it – and I think this is my favorite of my tree images (though I really like all of them, especially the Cygnus Tree image). Anyway, my favorites are a discussion for another day!
This scene was in the same field as the two other images, and happened to be positioned directly in line with the vertical Milky Way, something I’d been seeking out. I also like how the two trees in the background flank the main subject. This whole area is like a whimsical, almost Dr. Suess-like, forest and it’s a lot of fun to shoot. As you can see, however, the light pollution on this end of the park isn’t ideal. That said, it still makes for nice pictures I think.
More next week!
