Do you ever have one of those years where you’re just like, what the heck? Haha that has been 2026 so far for Holly and I. Holly had shoulder surgery in late February, and two days before she was supposed to get out of her sling, I broke my foot playing pickleball – basically the most midlife sentence I’ve ever written. I’m finally walking again and we’re both progressing nicely along our respective recovery paths, but geez. Anyway, all that is to say, I’ve not shot nearly as much as I’d have liked to this year. BUT, I have shot some, and over the next couple of weeks I want to spend some time sharing some of the images I captured this spring here in the Smokies.
This week’s Picture of the Week and the title might be a bit confusing. Cerulean, for those that don’t know, is a shade of blue, and the picture above is clearly not blue. Not even in the least. So what’s going on here? Well, the prominent mountain in the background is called Cerulean Knob. 🙂 This particular sunrise didn’t look like it was going to pan out to much. The sky was pretty clear, but there was enough moisture in the air to really catch the color and light immediately around the mountain. With the sun coming up just out of the frame, it really made for a dynamic looking scene I thought. I don’t know of anyone who loves the humidity of East Tennessee, but on this particular morning, it really saved the day!
More next week!
