Camp Manitou!  It occurred to me at the end of last year that I never made time for our annual family vacation pictures.  After looking back this afternoon, however, I realized I skipped it in 2024 and 2025.  I was so busy with all my other images I wanted to share, I just never got around to it.  Well this year I’m making time for it, and since I was already talking about travel last week, AND this week it’s Father’s Day as I’m writing this, it seems like the perfect time to share.

Anyway, for summer vacation this year (Why Camp Manitou? Read here) we returned to Kiawah Island in South Carolina.  Our third time to Kiawah and our second time at this specific house, we have grown to love the quiet and very nature centric destination.  This year was a bit different for me personally – I broke my foot back in April and was still in a boot when we went to the beach, which severely limited how much I got around.  I did make myself get out some to take pictures though, and despite my own personal challenges, it was a great time as usual.  Below is a collection of images I captured around where we stayed.

Those of you with a keen eye for details will notice that my dad is wearing a security guard shirt in the family picture above.  Those of you who know dad will know that he’s always had a bit of a quirky sense of humor.  Someone had given him a shirt, which he didn’t open until we got to the beach, and it turned out to be this security guard shirt.  We never got the full story exactly, but in any case dad thought it would be funny to wear it around and see how long it would take people to notice what it was.  Everyone thought it was so funny, he proceeded to wear it off and on throughout the week for entertainment value.  That’s my dad!  🙂
