The Mulberry

I don’t know about everyone else, but after the two weeks of snow we had here in East Tennessee, I was a little tired of being stuck at home. Our driveway is just steep enough that if it gets the least bit slick with snow and ice, my car isn’t going anywhere and Holly’s car is sketchy at best getting out. After all this, I think I’ve decided I LOVE a good snow day every once in a while, but snow weeks? Not so much. 🙂 That is, of course, until I realized that my neighbor Tim Copeland and his lady friend Mitzi Hall had built an epic sled run in a nearby field. This sled run was then further modified by another neighbor to include a small ramp at the end, a few yards ahead of the briar bushes. Good times!

After the roads had cleared, our niece Holly decided to come stay with us (she too had cabin fever, so a new place to stay was a welcome change), and it took no arm twisting to get her to go sledding with me that night. Though a lot of the snow was starting to disappear, the quality snow pack of the sled run, now known as “The Mulberry”, was still perfect. Tim was kind enough to let us borrow his wheelbarrow-bucket-turned-sled, and a good time was had by all. Hopefully we didn’t wake up any neighbors with our laughing and woohooing!
