Fall has been pretty interesting here in East Tennessee this year. The color up in the higher elevations seemed to come and go VERY quickly, while the color down in the lower elevations has hung around for a while (at least until the cold snap this weekend with all the wind and now rain). Down here in the valley, there have been some patches of absolute brilliance!
Holly and I stumbled upon this scene a few weeks ago when it snowed in the mountains. We were driving around, trying to find a good vantage point and decided to head out West Millers Cove road. While we didn't find a great view of the snow there… we DID find some awesome color on the small road leading to the Mountain Home Community, just past Blackberry Farm. As you can see, the color there was amazing!
