A couple of weeks ago I shared an image of the Milky Way over Happy Valley. As I was working on that image, it occurred to me that something would line up with Eagle Ridge as the Milky Way set (Eagle Ridge is the mountain on the far right side of that image). I setup my tracker and zoomed in, and to my delight realized the ridge lined up perfectly with the Lagoon Nebula and the Trifid Nebula just above it. I could not have asked for a better alignment! The entire scene was captured at 300mm, and as ever, I’m always impressed by just how big these objects are in our next sky!
Next week we’ll transition back to the day time, to explore my autumn collection. I’ve been shooting a lot this season, and I’m really excited to share with you what I’ve captured! See you then!
