Over the next several weeks I want to spend some time sharing a few images that I captured last year, but never got around to posting – despite them being favorites!  This week’s image is of the famous “troll” bridge in Elkmont.  The photogenic little bridge used to serve as the footpath to reach the late Lindsay Young’s cabin, which was located in the Millionaire’s Row section of the old Elkmont establishment.  In March of 2017 the park service started removing most of the cabins in the historic district due to how dilapidated they had become (though the park did choose to restore a good number of them, mostly in the Daisy Town section), but chose to leave the stone structures, like foundations, chimneys, and this awesome little bridge.

Every year as part of the Tremont Photography Workshop programs, we inevitably take folks to this bridge to photograph it, but I had never personally gotten anything there worth sharing.  This past fall I decided to change that though, and took inspiration from some of the other scenes I’d been doing with my lantern.  I had Holly help me move the lantern (this was created using a single lantern and a flashlight!) and light the individual posts to match my vision, which I was extremely thankful for!  Otherwise I’d have been back there for hours!

More next week!
