Back to the daylight! I mentioned in last week’s post that I had some images that I wanted to share from my time out west that weren’t night images, and the more I looked at them, the more I wanted to share! So anyway, this week I wanted to share some images I captured while in Nevada.
My trip out west this year started in Reno, a place I had never been to. I have to say, I was really surprised and impressed with Reno – it was not at all the city I was expecting it to be. While there I went up to Lake Tahoe for an afternoon, and I while I didn’t get any noteworthy shots while I was there, I had a great time and a nice introduction to the area.
For the second half of my work trip I needed to spend some time in the Las Vegas area, but rather than fly down, I opted to drive. The route I took went along the Extraterrestrial Highway and Rachel, Nevada, a spot Holly and I had visited years ago, and which I find entertaining. The drive was amazing though, and I was blessed with an amazing sunset on the way through. While in the Vegas area I went to Valley of Fire State Park – my second time visiting – and was again really impressed with the park. It’s absolutely gorgeous there, and I feel there is so much more to see still.
All that said, the images in this week’s Picture of the Week are highlights from that time. Next week we’ll return to California for more!
