Merry Christmas everyone!

I hope you’re all having a nice day!  Our Christmas has been a bit bumpy this year.  I haven’t been feeling so great since last Thursday, and I ended up mostly missing the get together at Holly’s family’s house last night because I really just needed to lay down.  This morning we got word that my brother’s family is all under the weather as well, so we’re postponing my side of the family’s get together (I’m feeling pretty good so far today though, so we’re going to try to eat with my parents).  That’s just how it goes sometimes!  Regardless of this current situation, though, we still have much to be thankful for.

Today I’m wrapping up my autumn photo series with this early morning scene from up on the Foothills Parkway. I got to witness a good many moody mornings this fall, but this particular one topped them all for me.  Well before sunrise, when the mountains were still blue / purple, the fog in the valley caught my eye.  I was using the lights in the foreground to help assist my focusing and decided I liked them in the scene.  I particularly loved how there are layers here from the bottom of the frame to the top!

Next week’s Picture of the Week will actually be my Five Favorite Photos post, my personal favorite of the year.  I hope you’ll join me then!
