The countdown is on! Here in East Tennessee the leaves are starting to change color, with some areas up in the mountains starting to peak, and I’ve already been busy shooting the splendor of it all. As I transition the blog from an exploration of the night sky to daytime images, I thought it would be appropriate and fun to share a small series of images that illustrate the progression of a sunrise. Even after all these years of shooting sunrises and sunsets, it never gets old to me. There is just something energizing to me about it. Even sunrises that aren’t ‘wows’ in terms of loads of color in the sky can be spectacular at times, as the collection of images today illustrates. All three of these images today were shot on the same morning, and as you can see, it was nice and foggy.
The image above is my personal favorite of the morning. I love the way the light is starting to catch the tops of the fog layer. The vertical image below, however, seemed to be the most popular when I shared it on Instagram. I’ll let you decide! 🙂
More next week!
