It is very fitting that you would see a nice sunset from a place called Sunset Beach, and our family was lucky enough to witness a few during out trip to North Carolina. On this particular evening, I wasn’t so sure it was going to pan out quite so dramatically, and then BAM, the sky just really lit up. You could see beach-goers up and down the beach all stopping to take pictures of their own (as good a metric as I can think of for sunsets).
One of the things I appreciated about this particular beach were all the boardwalk access points, which all had these nice staircases that then led down to the beach. Given that all the action was happening in the sky away from the ocean (despite what its namesake might imply), I decided to frame up one of the sets of stairs with the nice dunes and the sky. A stairway to the heavens, if you will. 🙂
