If you’ve been hanging around Picture of the Week for a little while, you may recall the Middle Prong “fan”, which has been one of my go-to spots in the Tremont area for years.  As I mentioned last time I shared a picture of it, you just never know when log jams will park on top of it and ruin the shot.  Well, as I’ve been exploring around in the Elkmont area, I’ve discovered another surfboard style rock that has become a personal muse of mine this summer.  The Little River in this location is a slightly bigger stream than the Middle Prong, which gives this scene a bit of a different feel.  I’ve also noticed the Little River seems much more prone to flooding (it’s a lot longer, so I assume its because there’s more area to “gain steam”).

As you’ll see below, I’ve gone back to this same spot multiple times so far and have managed to come away with a few different views.  I’m really liking the look of the first one below, so maybe I’ll try that shot again this fall when the leaves are changing!
