Greetings everyone!  And welcome back to the continental United States – if only for a little while! 🙂 Before we take off again I wanted share a few images I’ve been capturing around here, starting with this one.  If you’ve been following along, Picture of the Week has been in Hawaii the last several weeks, and that’s actually a good segue into this week’s Picture of the Week.  I don’t know why, but the mountains featured in the distance in this week’s picture have always reminded me of the steep mountains of Hawaii, with their classic fin shapes that reach down to the ocean.  Our mountains here obviously don’t reach down to the ocean, but rather it’s the fins that I find reminiscent.  In any case, I’ve been trying to capture this for forever, and on this particular morning the light happened to be just right, and when combined with infrared, I felt like the whole scene popped.

Now, I know some of you will be disappointed to see a sunrise in black and white, but don’t you worry!  I’ve got you covered next week!
