Singapore has given me a number of images over the years that I really like, and one of the spots I enjoy going is down along the boardwalk at the Merlion statue.  The Merlion, and of course the Marina Bay Sands building, is just so Singapore, it’s really hard to pass up (even though I vowed one year to *not* take pictures of it). Unless you want mobs of people in your photos though, you really have to go SUPER late at night, or at sunrise, because the location is just so popular (the whole area is surrounded by shops and restaurants).  On my visit this past year, however, it was extremely rainy and I frankly didn’t think I’d see the sun rise or set while I was in town.  As luck would have it though, the weather changed and it yielded a gorgeous sunrise that reached from the horizon, all the way over the buildings of the central business district.  Funny enough, literally every time I visit the Merlion, and particularly at sunrise, there is someone there filming a dance video.  I don’t know what it is with Singaporeans and dance videos, but it’s endlessly entertaining to watch go down.  So this morning was both beautiful and entertaining!

More next week!
