Have you ever been to the Charleston City Market?  It’s a classic spot in Charleston, steeped in history, and surrounded by some amazing places to eat (and snack!).  It’s always on mine and Holly’s to-do list when we visit Charleston.

Earlier this summer when we visited, we weren’t looking to do any shopping, but wanted some good seafood, so this is where we went.  I’ve always thought I’d like to photograph the market somehow… but when it’s flooded with people and vendors, it’s a bit hard to capture (at least for me anyway).  After eating we strolled through the empty market and I just happened to look up and noticed the painting in the eve of the roof.  I’d never noticed it before!  I suppose I have always been preoccupied with not running into anyone, and not getting hit by a car, that I’d just never really looked up.  I decided to try to work it into a picture, and capture the essence of the area in the evening, and this is what I came up with!
