Haha, you guys remember when it was super cold out and we all couldn’t wait for it to get hot?  Yeah… me neither!  🙂

I started this series of local images back several weeks ago with a black and white image I captured at Foothills Parkway, and so I thought I’d end with another black and white image, also from the Foothills Parkway.  If you recognize this particular scene, I was standing in almost the exact same place when I took this, as I was for the picture last week!  Isn’t it crazy how lighting and clouds can completely change a scene?

I’m sure I’ve said this several times over the years on this blog, but winter time photography just doesn’t do it for me.  I enjoy it at first, then the leafless trees and endless gray days start to wear on me.  In fact, I took so few pictures this past winter, I was concerned for a little while that I would run out of content for Picture of the Week!  No worries now though, the spring was good to me, and Japan… OH MY GOODNESS!  At any rate, this is one of the morning’s I managed to get inspired to go shoot a sunrise and though the color never showed up, the lighting and the clouds turned amazing.  I love the movement in the sky and the shadows in the foreground… definitely worth getting up for!

Alright, next week Picture of the Week heads to the beach for our annual family trip, then Japan!  Much more to come!
