I hope everyone caught the announcement about my Auschwitz image being used by the Illinois Holocaust Museum just the other day, and thank you to all who left so many kind comments, words of encouragement, and ‘likes’ to the posts across my various social media feeds. That is a huge honor, and definitely a highlight of 2017.
Speaking of 2017, it is quickly drawing to a close! Yikes! I had originally planned to start my series on our road trip out west this week, but after looking at all the images I plan to share, I’d end up being in a situation where I’m talking about fall colors in the dead of winter. So… I’m making a game time decision and going ‘real time’ with Picture of the Week. This week and next I’m going to share some images I’ve gotten this fall, and then we’ll move on to more trip pictures!
This week’s image is from one of my favorite places in the Smokies, Elkmont. My wife and I, and our niece Holly, went exploring around up in the park a couple weeks ago when the colors were just starting to change. On this particular evening fog was hanging on the creeks, and it made for some really neat looking scenes I thought!
