Well this is super exciting! I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a while, but as these things go, it was under embargo for a bit. However, the cat is out of the bag now!
Several months ago a gentleman that works with the Civil War Trust reached out to me about using my photo of the Devil’s Den Witness Tree in Gettysburg in a spread for the group’s upcoming issue of Hallowed Ground. The non-profit, he explained, helps preserve and protect battle fields from the Civil War, Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812 from being destroyed by urban sprawl. WOW! Well, that conversation led to another conversation, and before I knew it, the image was also going to be used on the cover of a book entitled Fighting the Second Civil War: History of Battlefield Preservation and the Emergence of the Civil War Trust. How neat is that??
Holly and I have had the good fortune to visit a good many places, and I always enjoy getting to share those places with all my readers who may never get the chance to visit themselves. It is a HUGE honor for my pictures to help preserve those places. That said, I’ve got yet another that I’ve been holding on to, but for that, you’ll have to wait just a bit longer! 🙂
