This past October I finally made it to India, and WOW – India – what a place! I think I’m particularly fascinated with Asia because it’s shocking to the senses. There is nothing familiar about it, and in some places it feels slightly out of control (perhaps untamable), and the Indian subcontinent certainly embodies all these things!

This particular trip was a work trip and so Holly unfortunately didn’t get to go with me. The company I work for is working hard to establish new relationships there, so it was a whirlwind of travel and meetings; 3 cities (Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bengaluru) in 5 days. I did manage to sneak away one evening in New Delhi and so I had a taxi driver… who turned out to be the best taxi driver ever… drive me around to some of the sites nearby. One of particular interest is the India Gate (the large structure in the background above), which stands as a memorial to all the Indians killed in the various wars and conflicts the Country has been involved in.

As we arrived, they were starting to close everything up and were turning lights off. I did however manage to get a shot of this structure, which sits just behind the gate. I loved how the light beams shown through all the humidity in the air, and the various colors in the sky from the different types of bulbs being used around the area. A pretty view of such a solemn place.
