Frozen Leaves

Here in East Tennessee we started November with a bit of a surprise snow storm in the mountains, and we're ending February with what turned out to be an ice storm (it was initially forecasted as snow).  Good times!  Now that it's rained the past two days, it looks like I'll finally be able to get my car out of the driveway tomorrow… which is a very welcomed change.  Holly and I, and most of the area, were stuck inside for the bulk of the last week; so while snow days are fun, I think we're all ready for our normal routines to return! 🙂

This area is no stranger to ice storms; it seems we have a good one every few years or so. For whatever reason though, this one seems to have been a bit worse than the ones in recent memory. Schools were out all week, lots of split trees causing damage, lots of people without power, and then there's the constant popping and cracking… and crashing, to keep you on your toes. In spite of all the bad and annoying things, there was actually some beauty to be found around. I spotted these pretty red leaves in a neighbor's yard (they're used to seeing me wandering around by now… I hope), all encased in a quarter inch of ice. Here's hoping you had a chance to get out and enjoy it for a little bit!

…enough of that though, I'm ready for Spring!!!
