I'm constantly amazed at how good light changes things… I know, I say this a lot. I should be over the amazement by now, but I'm not.
In the middle of November I met up with some friends to do a sunrise shoot up on Foothills Parkway. Admittedly, most of the color in the trees was gone, especially up on the mountain sides, and so I wasn't expecting anything fantastic… unless of course some clouds rolled in… which didn't happen. We stood around any way and just as sun popped up over the mountains, all the oak trees that were still holding on to their leaves lit up like fire! It was really neat to watch. I also love watching the light rays begin to filter down through the valleys. The light extends like fingers until all the shadows are gone. Cool stuff!
