The other day while out trying to find some dogwoods to photograph, I stumbled on a ton of these little guys, though I had no idea at the time what they were. Turns out they’re dwarf irises (thanks Mitzi Hall). It also turns out that I liked my pictures of them better than the dogwoods I was finding! That’s how it goes though; when I set out to take pictures of something specific I’m generally disappointed with what I get, but when I just go with the flow, things tend to work better.
