One of the main attractions in the city center of Prague is the astronomical clock. It is a beautiful creation and an engineering wonder for the time period. If you were just casually walking through, trying to sort through the crowds that come to watch it do its thing every hour, you might miss the fact that you can go in the tower and climb to the top! If you pay the few dollars it costs to enter, you’ll be greeted by a very unique looking stairwell… which I guess really isn’t stairs so much as it is a ramp… with an even more interesting elevator shaft that runs down the middle. By our estimation it was quicker to walk than wait for the elevator, but hindsight it wasn’t. We’d have missed this view though, had we taken the easy way up!
