This year while Holly and I were in Poland, we had the opportunity to take a Viking boat cruise from just outside of Swinoujscie to Międzyzdroje on the Baltic Sea. When I heard about this trip, I was super excited because it meant we got to see more of Poland AND we got to see the Baltic Sea.
The boat itself was extremely cool and had ample seating for our group and the others that were on the boat… you could sit basically in any part of the ship you’d like. One thing I’m not sure any of us were prepared for though was just how wavy the Baltic Sea is! The sea tossed the boat around quite a bit and at least half of our group ended up sick. This is obviously not the company’s fault, but something that would have been good to know before hand! :) The crew did a good job of trying to keep your mind off of constant rocking by playing fun music that all the Polish people seemed to know. They also tended to the sick people extremely well; which they’re apparently used to doing.
I did not personally get sick on the trip and found it to be quite enjoyable. It is a long trip (about an hour and half), but I enjoyed the scenery and the laughs with our friends. If you get sea sick however, you might want to steer clear. Holly didn’t actually get sick, but was green for quite some time after getting off the boat. I think she’d skip it given the opportunity again. LOL
