My family stayed in one of the condos (702 Sandpiper) on the bayside of the resort and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The condo itself was well appointed and there is a Walmart nearby for food and anything you may have forgotten at home.

As for the grounds of the resort and things to do; the grounds were very neatly kept as you would expect with any golf community. I do not personally play golf, but the course looked very well laid out and well manicured. The resort itself has created almost a small town on property, complete with restaurants and shopping opportunities. There are lots of things for kids to do and whole resort is very family friendly.

My only real complaint are the "resort cards" that are required almost everywhere you go. Apparently there is a new fee that the owners have to pay ($300 per month) to get this card which gives them and their guests access to the trolley service, the pools by the hotel, and special parking. I can understand there being special parking for members and I could also understand there being pools for hotel guests versus condo / vacation rental guests (although even this seems a bit silly) but the trolley service you would think would be included for all guests of the facilities. With the prices people are paying to stay at this fine establishment, I’m sure there is margin to cover this.

My only other complaint is that the beaches were outrageously crowded. Frankly there isnt anything the resort could do about this one (especially during high season), but something to be aware of if you’re planning on staying here. Either pay the high prices for the hotels chairs and umbrellas, or bring your own stuff and prepare to be packed in tight with all your closest beach going friends. There are, however, several nice state parks in close proximity to the resort that were not crowded AT ALL (see my review of Grayton Beach State Park) and is worth the drive… since we would be driving anyway because we couldn’t use the shuttle (can you tell I was annoyed by not being able to use the shuttle?).

In the end, I would certainly stay here again, though I might personally look elsewhere on highway 30A for something with beaches less crowded.
