My family ate at Dewey’s Seafood Restaurant in June of 2012. The food was excellent and the service was really good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The seating here can be somewhat difficult as it is first come, first serve… so be prepared to be patient. The line can be a little long at times as well; so again, be patient. You can help this out by looking at the menu before(!) you get to the ordering window. Most of the hold up was people getting to the window and then trying to decide what they wanted.
My wife got the friend shrimp basket and my brother got the grilled shrimp basket. Both raved about how good it was. I got the chicken basket (I don’t personally do seafood) and really enjoyed it, but one of the wait staff said I should have gotten the burger instead. She bragged that they have the best burger on the island… given the quality of the other food, I would bet she was right. The baskets we got came with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were amazing (had a sweet taste to them) and the slaw was really good as well. The fries were standard fare french fries… nothing to complain about. My only complaint was that iced tea (and water) were the only beverages with free refills. The sodas were call cans and were $1.50 each! They did have both sweet and unsweet tea on tap though, so I made due.
I would eat here again.
