For this week’s Picture of the Week, we return to Old Gray Cemetery in Knoxville. The Horne Monument in Old Gray marks the graves of two Confederate soldiers; William Asbury Horne and John Fletcher Horne (more info here). I had seen this particular statue in other people’s photos of the cemetery and had convinced myself that I didn’t want to photograph is because I had something else in my head… but once I got there the statue’s face really caught my attention and it turned out to be one of my favorite shots.
