Chengdu, China is famous for its various panda parks, and admittedly, the last time we visited that was really all we cared to see. This time, however, I had a few days in city for work, so I wanted to do some exploring of the city itself. One of the stops we made was at the Sanyi Temple, near downtown. The temple itself was interesting, but I especially loved the gardens, which were full of bonsai-like trees, fountains, flowers, and all sorts of stuff. As we were exploring around, I found this pathway. I loved the bamboo forest springing up above the walls, and especially the round doorway. This particular area was sort of off to the side, and seemingly overlooked by most other people there (I only had to way a few minutes for the selfie-taking girls to lose interest and move along 🙂 ), which made it stand out to me. I always enjoy myself when I don’t feel rushed! Anyway, I thought this peaceful scene was very reflective of the memorial itself.
