Last week I started my Szczecin series inside the Cathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle, and this week I wanted to share the interior of another church there. As you’re walking towards one of the two large malls in the city, the church of Saint John the Baptist sits quietly on a corner. It’s exterior is a little hard to photograph because the streets are so tight there, however the interior I found to be unexpectedly beautiful. From the warm hues of the different materials such as brick, wood, and gold, to the deep blue ceiling with golden stars all over it, the inside of this church stunning. The awe that the Basilica of St. James the Apostle evokes due to its massive size, this one accomplishes through it’s detail. I swear I could have sat and looked at that ceiling all day!
